  Heroes and Rebels in the Family Tree—George Youngman (Donum Patris Part 4) George Youngman, Jr. was born June 12, 1858 and Baptised August 1, 1858 at St. Margaret’s. Lowestoft, Suffolk England.   His father was George Youngman, Sr. (1824-1859), a shoemaker who died shortly after George’s birth in early March 1859 and buried at St. Margaret’s churchyard on March 5, 1859.   He was 35 years of age.   His mother was Susanna Redgrave.   She was born in Lowestoft about 1819.   She had one son out of wedlock, William Redgrave, born in Lowestoft about 1840.   William Redgrave was a fisherman.   Susanna Redgrave married George Youngman, Sr. on August 24, 1853 at St. Margaret’s Church, Lowestoft.   Heroes and Rebels in the Family Tree—Thomas James Boyce (Donum Patris Part 3) Thomas James Boyce was born the illegitimate child of Susannah Jane Boyce on June 29, 1855 in Lowestoft, Suffolk, England.   Susannah was 19 years old at the time of Thomas’ birth and had been engaged to marry Thomas Sewell (Scarll) according to the marriage banns published by St. John Maddermarket, Norwich, Norfolk, England.   However, it appears that Susannah and Thomas never married. On September 25, 1856, Susannah Jane Boyce died of typhoid fever and her child was left an orphan.   The 1861 census records show Thomas Boyce, age 6, at the Oulton Workhouse.   By age 16, Thomas was engaged as an ordinary seaman aboard the fishing vessel “Australia” skippered by William Benjamin Burwood, with John Baker Marjoram as his mate.             On June 21, 1877, Thomas James Boyce, Age 22, and Elizabeth Ann Adams, age 21,   (1...
