Family Vignette -- Hannah Louisa Albrow

 

When Hannah Louisa Albrow was born on March 22, 1838, in Kirkley, Suffolk, England, her father, Michael Albrow, was 28, and her mother, Martha Albrow, was 29. Although her mother and father shared the same last name, it is not believed they are related after going back 4 generations in each side of the family. 

Hannah was baptized in the church of St. Peter and St. John at Kirkley, Suffolk on April 22, 1838 with the name of Anna Louisa.

She married Robert Wilson on May 20, 1862. They had nine children in 18 years.

After the birth of their fifth child, Albert Edward, Hannah and Robert emigrated to New Zealand and settled in Waimate where they owned a farm. They had four additional children born in New Zealand.

Robert Wilson died on January 8, 1913 in Shirley, Christchurch, New Zealand.

Hannah Louisa Albrow died on November 21, 1929, in Waimate, Canterbury, New Zealand, at the age of 91, and was buried in Canterbury, New Zealand.

3.      Rose Maria 1867-1950

4.      Frank Yaxley 1869-1958

5.      Albert Edward 1871-1956

6.      Clara Louisa 1873-1938

7.      Victor “Vic” Roland 1876-1964

8.      Frederick Denham 1878-1945

9.      Olive Ethel Wilson 1882-1952 

Genealogy:  Hannah Louisa Albrow 1838-1929 was the daughter of Martha Albrow 1808-1868 and her brother was Jeremiah Albrow 1797-1881 and his wife was Margaret Colby 1795-1870 and her sister was Maria Colby 1788-1870 and her daughter was Harriett Ward 1828-1918 and her husband was George Forster 1830-1902 and his brother was Thomas Forster 1837-1888 and his daughter was Caroline Forster 1864-1906 and her husband was George “Pikey” William Adams Welch 1867-1940.
